If you have been considering getting dentures, you may be wondering what the process is like. At Denture Design, you work directly with a denture technician to receive expert care from start to finish.

How To Get Dentures without a Dentist

Many people do not realize that you can get dentures directly from a denture technician in certain states. In Idaho, patients are allowed to work directly with a licensed denturist to get a custom denture set, without having to work through a dentist. Our team of denture technicians and denturists are trained in detailed denture design and fit, ensuring your new dentures look great and feel secure.

New Immediate Denture Sets Process

At Denture Design, you can receive new dentures without a dentist efficiently. The process to get new immediate dentures involves a few different dental lab visits, as described below:

1.New Denture Set Consultation: The first step toward a new smile is scheduling a consultation to determine if immediate dentures are the right option for your situation. The denture technicians at Denture Design will examine your oral health and discuss your options with you.
2.Dental Impressions: Our team will take impressions of your remaining teeth and gums. These impressions will be used to create a model of your mouth.
3.Temporary Dentures: Based on the model of your mouth, temporary dentures can be created to help with aesthetics and function while your immediate dentures are created.
4.Teeth Extraction: At this denture appointment, your teeth will be extracted, and your immediate dentures will be inserted right away.
5.Follow-up Appointments and Temporary Relines: At Denture Design, we encourage our patients to visit the office several more times over the following months to have temporary relines inserted into your dentures. Temporary relines fill the empty space in the denture after your gums heal and shrink away from it.
6.Final Reline: After 10-12 months, you will return to our dental lab, and we will remove the temporary relines and insert the final base into the denture set.

Replacement Denture Sets Process

Patients can work directly with our denture technicians to receive replacement dentures, as described in the process below:

1.Replacement Denture Set Consultation: The first step in getting replacement dentures is to schedule an appointment. During the consultation, one of our licensed denturists will examine your gums and discuss the options available to you.
2.Dental Impressions: Our denture technicians will take impressions of your gums. This involves placing a clay-like material in a tray and inserting it into your mouth to create a mold of your gums.
3.Bite Registration and Vertical Restoration: Our team will take a bite registration to determine the correct alignment of your teeth when your mouth is closed. We also complete an in-depth assessment of your bite and vertical to restore any lost distance due to bone, tissue, or tooth loss.
4.Fabrication: Based on the impressions and bite registration, we will create a wax model of the denture. This model is used to make the final denture right here in our dental lab. We can fabricate your teeth faster and more efficiently than a general dentist because we make your denture set from start to finish in our dental lab.
5.Denture Set Delivery: When the denture set is ready, you will return to our denturist office. We will check the fit of the denture and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that it fits comfortably.
